less crowded places to visit in bali

Bali has gotten much more popular nowadays, which makes finding truly secluded areas with few tourists a bit of a challenge. I don’t mean to say everywhere is packed, but it’s just something to keep in mind.

It’s quite a paradox when tourists wish for serene spots with fewer crowds in Bali. If everyone desired the same, those tranquil places would soon be bustling with visitors. But don’t get me wrong, I get it though! It’s understandable as they come to Bali to relax, so it’s disappointing when it’s just as busy as home. Anyway, I’m not here for that, I’m trying to compile a short list of places that tend to be less crowded.

Here’s Concise List of Places to Consider Adding to Your Itinerary:

Let’s start with a relaxing option near the airport. There’s a beach close to the airport that seems pretty chill, in my opinion. Nikko Beach in Nusa Dua is great for relaxing. It offers a peaceful atmosphere with soft sands and calm waters, ideal for relaxation and enjoying the sun.

Ubud Areas

While Ubud can get busy, here’s a list of places offering a more authentic and less touristy experience:

Campuhan Ridge Walk: This scenic walk offers breathtaking rice terrace views and is a great alternative to the more crowded Tegallalang Rice Terraces. Enjoy a peaceful morning stroll here.

Panestanan Village: Located just outside Ubud’s center, this charming village boasts traditional houses, art galleries, and a relaxed atmosphere. Explore the local shops and cafes, or take a cooking class to learn Balinese cuisine.

Pengosekan: This village is known for its skilled woodcarving artisans. Explore the workshops, witness their artistry firsthand, and perhaps even purchase a unique souvenir.

Tampaksiring: This village, about 20 minutes from Ubud, boasts historical significance and breathtaking scenery. Visit the Gunung Kawi Temple, an impressive water temple carved directly into a cliff face.

Sebatu Sanctuary: Located a bit further out, Sebatu Sanctuary provides a chance to reconnect with nature among stunning rice terraces and cascading waterfalls.

Here are all your hotel options in Ubud

Culture and Nature

Sidemen: Surrounded by lush rice terraces, Sidemen offers a tranquil escape. Hike through these scenic landscapes, connect with local farmers, and experience the serenity of rural Bali.

Candidasa: Candidasa is a charming coastal town with a relaxed atmosphere and beautiful beaches. Enjoy snorkeling or diving in the nearby coral reefs, explore the local fish markets and cafes, or simply relax on the beach.

Amed: Relax on beautiful beaches with stunning views of Mount Agung. Explore hidden coves where the turquoise water laps at the shore, and discover the haunting allure of World War II shipwreck dive sites.

Panglipuran: This traditional village is known for its dedication to cleanliness and adherence to ancient Balinese customs. Explore the beautifully maintained houses, witness daily life unfold, and experience the unique culture of the local community.

Munduk: Munduk offers a refreshing escape from the coastal heat. Enjoy scenic hikes through rice paddies and coffee plantations, explore hidden waterfalls, or simply relax in the tranquility of the mountains. Hotel options in Munduk

Menjangan Island: This small island off the northwest coast of Bali is a haven for nature lovers. Explore the pristine coral reefs teeming with marine life, go snorkeling or diving, or simply appreciate the untouched beauty of this island paradise.

There you have it, some places worth adding to your list, as I mentioned earlier. I’m not planning to make a long list. I feel like a lazy frog, just wanting to sit on a lotus leaf and gaze into the distance on this fine day 🙂
